This was super insightful. It helped teach me how to navigate my inner world better when there's a complex of both obvious and hidden desires and resistances. It's given me a better sense of direction on where to take my life next and how to follow through.”

Find Your Next Thing is for you if you want to...

Narrow your options to a clear direction you can commit to (without forcing a premature decision or cutting off future paths)
Understand what’s actually blocking you (fear, resistance, self-doubt, etc.) so action stops feeling heavy or aversive and you don’t have to fight yourself to move forward
Translate inner clarity into concrete next steps, within the next 1-2 weeks
Take meaningful action without relying on willpower, self-coercion, or “pushing through”
Feel a grounded sense of alignment in your body (not just a rational plan on paper)
Move forward with momentum and confidence, even if right now you don’t know where to start

Participants are usually:

In transition, e.g. on sabbatical, between roles, post-exit
Dissatisfied in a “successful” role
Sensing a next chapter but unsure how to begin

This might not be a good fit if:

You're expecting a passive experience or quick-fix answers, rather than engaging actively in the discovery process
You primarily need specific business coaching or tactical career advice (this program focuses on building the foundation before those steps)
You find guided inner exploration (paying sustained attention to thoughts, emotions, and body sensations) overwhelming, destabilizing, or not supportive for you right now

After 7-14 Days, Walk Away With:

A Clear Vision for Aligned Work

A concise, specific articulation of how aligned work looks and feels for you, giving you a concrete reference for decisions and next steps.

A Map of Your Inner Resistance

Use counterintuitive questions to identify fears, patterns, and parts that create stuckness, and begin to understand their underlying motivations.

Practical Tools for Navigating Resistance

Learn practical ways to meet and navigate resistance with curiosity and care, rather than fighting against it with self-coercion.

A Personal Anchor for Motivation

Create a living artifact to reconnect with your core motivations and desires for aligned work, whenever needed.

An Actionable Path Forward

Translate your vision into a concrete map with the first few small, achievable steps identified (and even taken!)

An Embodied Reference for Alignment

A clear, experiential understanding of how alignment actually feels for you, captured in language to reference anytime.

Frameworks for Ideation & Assessment

Repeatable prompts and powerful mental models to help generate possibilities and assess which are worth pursuing versus letting go.

A Sustainable Micro-Practice

A simple, personalized daily practice (that you’ll actually stick with) designed to maintain momentum and navigate friction as you continue on your path.
Why it Works

The Alignment Cycle

Most people try to “figure out” their next thing by thinking harder or pushing themselves to act.
Find Your Next Thing works differently. It follows a step-wise sequence that maps on to how authentic directional clarity emerges, from the inside out.
When you move through these steps in order, clarity, direction, and momentum are the natural outcome.

5. Act & Iterate

Take action, learn from feedback, and refine your vision and approach as you build momentum.

4. Integrate

Learn to skillfully engage with the resistance, and create a practical path to the vision with doable next steps.

3. Collect & Clarify

Refine the possibilities into a clear vision, and begin to understand the underlying dynamics of the resistance.

1. Connect

Connect with your inner experience: desires, motivations, and what’s actually present for you right now.

2. Surface

Allow this connection to naturally bring to the surface both exciting possibilities and inner resistance.

About the Creator

Aaron Nesmith-Beck
Program Creator
After navigating the inner work of aligned work for over a decade, I’ve come to believe the primary blocks to finding and executing on aligned work are internal, not external.

Through understanding ourselves, clarifying our direction, and learning to navigate inner resistance we create the conditions for finding (and actually acting on) work that is aligned with the most possible dimensions of our being.

For me, this journey has included:

• Aligned work: Founding one of the first legal psilocybin retreats (Atman, acq. 2024), and growing a personal development blog to 1M+ readers.

• Unaligned work: Various ecommerce businesses, and freelancing as a copywriter.

I know how draining the inner conflict of misaligned work can feel, and I know how open and energizing it can be to find the next right thing.

Find Your Next Thing is a maximally compressed, minimally distorted version of the most effective methods, modalities, and tools I’ve found for finding and executing on aligned work. It’s what I wish I’d had during my own periods of transition, uncertainty, and stuckness.

I believe doing aligned work is not just a service to ourselves, but something that benefits the whole because each of us has unique gifts that no one else can give. It would be a great honor to help you on your path to aligned work, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
Aaron has made multiple recommendations to me that each have transformed my life. I would not have a fraction of what I have today if not for him.

Aaron operates with uncommonly high integrity and open-heartedness. He brings care and intellectual rigor to everything he does, while staying deeply connected to the mystery of Life. Working with him is a gift.
Daniel Kazandjian
When we worked together, Aaron was always someone I went to when I needed wise counsel. He brings a rare blend of heart and unique, insightful thinking to anything he creates. His words carry tremendous weight with me.
Gabe Charalambides
Aaron's ability to inquire deeply into my core motivations, and subsequently help me develop a clear, practical plan of change has been tremendously helpful for both my career and personal growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why will this work? What’s the theory of change here?

This program operates on the principle that our outer work often reflects our inner landscape. When we feel stuck or unaligned, the primary constraints are usually internal rather than external – unresolved inner conflicts, fears, patterns, or a lack of clarity about our desires or direction.

Find Your Next Thing follows an iterative, 5-step process called The Alignment Cycle, designed to bridge inner clarity with outer action:

  1. Connect: Connect with your inner experience: desires, motivations, and what’s actually present for you right now.
  2. Surface: This connection naturally brings things to the surface – both exciting possibilities for what's next, and the inner resistance (fears, patterns, conflicting parts) that arises in relation to these possibilities.
  3. Collect & Clarify: Work to clarify both sides, refining potential paths forward into a clear vision, while also gaining clarity on the specific nature and underlying motivations of the resistance.
  4. Integrate: Skillfully engage with inner resistance using curiosity and care (instead of force or self-coercion), freeing up energy to generate and act on concrete next steps.
  5. Act & Iterate: Take action, learn from feedback, and refine your vision and approach as you build momentum.

This 'Connect → Surface → Collect & Clarify → Integrate → Act & Iterate' cycle is intertwined throughout the program, creating the conditions for sustainable progress toward more aligned work.

How much of an idea for my ‘next thing’ do I need before I start?

You don’t need a clear idea at all. Many participants begin feeling uncertain, conflicted, or unsure what they want next. The program is designed to meet you where you are, and the exercises help you generate possibilities as well as narrow them down.

I struggle with sticking to things or following through. How will this be different?

The program is designed with this challenge in mind. Module 2 focuses specifically on working skillfully with resistance, including resistance to following through with the program itself. The daily commitment is intentionally manageable (as little as 20–40 minutes), and the approach emphasizes self-compassion over self-coercion for navigating setbacks. You'll also identify your specific blocks to action and create micro-steps that actually feel doable (Module 6), creating a path forward that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

How much time do I need each day?

The program provides three recommended pacing tracks:

• "On Sabbatical" Track: 45-90 minutes per day for 7 days
•  Standard Track: 40-60 minutes per day for 10 days
• "Busy Professional" Track: 20-40 minutes per day for 14 days

Some days are shorter, some a bit longer, but the overall time commitment is intentionally manageable. If your schedule changes, you can slow down or switch pacing tracks at any point. The average total time investment is about 500 minutes (approximately one workday) spread across 7-14 days.

What if I fall behind or need to pause?

The program is designed to be self-paced. If life gets in the way, you can pause and resume whenever works for you. Most participants complete Find Your Next Thing in 7-14 days, but you can take longer if needed—you have lifetime access.

I’ve never done any “inner work” before. Can I still do this?

Yes! No prior experience or knowledge is needed. The video lessons, guided audios, and journaling exercises are designed to be accessible, with the option to go deeper as desired. Think of it like a good yoga class: beginner friendly, with options for more advanced poses.

I’ve done a ton of inner work. Will this still be useful?

Most likely, yes. While you may recognize some underlying concepts, this program provides a uniquely targeted application of inner work focused on transitions to aligned work. Many find that revisiting foundational principles within a clear, time-bound container, and with a specific focus on work and direction, creates fresh insights and momentum, regardless of prior experience.

If the section “Find Your Next Thing is for you if you want to…” resonates and you’ve already done a ton of inner work, this will likely be a great fit.

Is this only for people who want to change careers?

No. This program is for anyone seeking more aligned work, whether that means changing careers, finding a new role in your current field, restructuring your current position, starting something on the side, or clarifying what "aligned" even means for you. The materials meet you wherever you are.

I wouldn’t consider myself a “professional”. Can I still do this?

If you're a working-age person thinking intentionally about your work—whether that's knowledge work, creative pursuits, or something else—and you're looking for more alignment or your next step, then this program can help.

What technology or equipment do I need?

You'll need a computer, tablet, or mobile device with internet access, and headphones or speakers for the guided audio. The program is delivered through an online portal that works on any modern browser. A physical journal is strongly recommended for the journaling exercises.

How are materials delivered?

You’ll receive access to all materials through an online portal, including videos, guided audios, and downloadable PDFs.

How long will I have access to the materials?

You have lifetime access to all program materials. You can revisit exercises, re-watch videos, and return to the materials whenever you’re navigating a new decision or transition.

What if I don’t like it? What if it doesn’t “work” for me?

If you complete the program and don't find it valuable, simply email within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. You decide what "valuable" means, no questions asked. If you engage with the program in good faith and it doesn’t help you, I don’t want you to pay for it.

What happens after the 7-14 days?

The program is designed to equip you for the ongoing journey. You'll leave with a clearer vision, an actionable map, a sustainable daily practice, and tools for navigating resistance, allowing you to continue building momentum independently.

The program also includes a bonus module with resources to support you beyond the initial 7-14 days, and you have lifetime access to revisit materials anytime.

For those seeking additional personalized support, optional 1:1 coaching is available.

“Exactly what I needed.”

This is not what I was anticipating at all, but in totally a good way. Reconnecting with the feelings of alignment is turning out to be exactly what I needed. Just taking those 15 minutes every day has been a really nice pause, it’s definitely opening up a lot of doors in my head, and making me look at things in the right way.
Johnson
“Excited to recommend.”

I appreciate the sequencing of the exercises and the thoughtful approach to exploring the possibility space for a new career. My biggest takeaway is that aligned work is absolutely worth pursuing because it will come with challenges as all work does, but it will feel so different in my body.
Leah
“The structure worked.”

The progression towards increasingly specific and practical steps was good. The exercises made me connect both viscerally and practically with the vision.
Matthew
“Greatly exceeded my expectations.”

It felt like the format was a good way to capture things I’ve been thinking about and put them on a page and really unpick them and explore them in detail. Cemented the idea of what aligned work felt like for me and is giving me the confidence to pursue it!
Hom
“You may have f*cked around and changed my life.”

So much got loosened up for me by the sequence of exercises... the guidance through resistances and the alternative phrasings of things made the whole experience EXCELLENT. Uniquely felt like massaging knots out of my capacity to envision.
